Lily walks for the first time (with a walker...but steps!!!)

Lily walked this evening. I put her at the back of the walker and surprisingly she took four steps. So, I grabbed the camera and she did it again. She was so proud of herself. Excuse my screaming - I was pretty thrilled myself. Anyway, enjoy the first video on our blog.

Luke's Buddy Callan

Luke and Emmy are finally at that age where they have real friends. They ask to play with their friends. And often times want to go to church to see their friends. Tonight is usually Puggles at Awanas but because of Christmas it was cancelled for the next two weeks. Anyway, we decided to call Callan and see if he would come over and play. His mom was pretty excited since Callan doesn't generally get called for a playdate by himself (he has a 5 year old sister) Anyway, he came over for two hours and the kids did great! They all shared wonderfully and only got mad at each other once when Luke wanted to shut the light off and Callan did to. They got over it quick though. Luke even shared his choo choo's! That's a huge deal!!!!Anyway, here are some pics from today.

Lily's birthday

Lily loves her present!
The twins were very eager to help Lily open her present. So I told them they needed to put their hands on their bellies. They obeyed! (First time all day, I'm pretty sure.)

The twins eating their cake. We made them say thank you to Lily for having a birthday.
Want some Daddy?
So cute...
I got her a giant cupcake with lots of frosting for her birthday today. Just perfect size for her to manage with her hands...sort of.
Lily was getting hungry so I let her start out on a little brownie bite. Mmmm.
Beginning of the morning, Luke giving Lils a hug...ok, maybe more like a tackle. But she took it well.

First Big Snow

Dave rented Horton Hears A Who and surprised the kids with it. We all sat in the dark and cuddled. The kids went to bed an hour and a half past their bedtime. Pretty cool stuff!
Poor Lily hasn't been feeling all that hot this last week but she's finally coming out of her funk in time for her birthday party tomorrow. I've told the kids that they have to let her play with toys tomorrow. We will see.
Lils doing laundry for me. She is getting so big that now she can reach the buttons on the washing and drying machines and she can reach the doorknobs now. Oh boy!
Luke stayed out extra long (I had to bait him back inside...his little cheeks were so red)
"One day Brother, I will be as cool as you and as big as you and I will play outside with you. One day"
She fell and this is when she realized that she could make a pattern. Tomorrow, if time and weather allows, I will show her how to do a snow angel.
Happy to be outside in the snow that I had been promising her for two weeks now.
Lily rather irritated that she couldn't go outside. No, she isn't this pale - I think it was the snow reflecting off her face.

Ya, isn't she beautiful?

They think it's funny to NOT look at the camera when I am desperately pleading for them to. Adorable.
Running having so much fun.

The first go around in the early morning. Emmy's face cracks me up in the one below...what the heck is going on here Mom?

Today we woke up to a bunch of white stuff on the ground. So, at 7:45 in the morning, Luke was so excited to go outside he brought me his choo choo sandals so that he could go outside. When I told him he would be too cold he ignored me and marched outside. As soon as his little toes touched the snow, he started hollering, "Cold! Cold!" I then spent what seemed like an hour getting the kids dressed and let them go outside for about 5 whole minutes of play. We had to do it today because by Tuesday the cold will be 26 below zero. (And yes, Luke has one of Emma's hats under his coat...he realized this later and informed me that it was not right for me to put Emmy's hat on Choo Choo Guy.) The kid's head would have been cold! Geeze! They went out later in the day and actually played. Emmy went down the slide in the snow and Luke made a couple baskets and made some snowballs. Surprisingly, neither of them tried to eat it.

Lily is turning one

On Sunday th 14th of December, our little baby will officially be a toddler. But, I'm pretty set on her being a baby for a LONG time. Although, I'm pretty sure that knowing Lily's personality up to this point, she won't let me baby her for too much longer.
Anyway, she is such a wonderful little baby. Here is to our first wonderful year with her and to many countless years ahead.

Princess Emmy Baby with the fishy mask

Emmy has been coughing horrendously for who knows how long and today I took her in. The doc, whom I am not a big fan, said she didn't have asthma but chronic inflammatory...which then he said is basically the same thing as asthma. Whatever. Anyway, he prescribed albuterol, which I wanted xopenex or whatever it is, but apparently the latter is much more expensive. So, we did two treatments today. She takes quite the prodding to do it, but once she does it she is such a trooper and I just keep telling her how brave she is. Tonight she went to sleep and I haven't heard her cough yet. So hopefully this is something I will have to do with her here and there when she gets a cold and not all the time. But I told her I would take a picture of her so she could see what she looked like with her fishy mask on.
By the way - Dave if you read this tonight in Georgia, know that the kids were hugging the Escape today saying I want Daddy. And then they saw a plane fly into the airport by our house and they started yelling, "Daddy's plane! Daddy home!" They sure love you.
