Summer fun

We have been busy -
Lily has started to eat...when I remember, ya I know it sounds bad, but seriously the kid has rolls to spare - I think she will be okay if she misses out on a few bites of prunes and peas here and there. Plus she doesn't even want to eat that baby food crap - she wants chili dogs and pizza, ice cream and cupcakes. That's about the only time she really crawls is when she is trying to take food away from us.
Emma has started to put her shoes on all by herself. Yes they are velcro, but they have two straps and she has been putting them on the right feet each time (I'm pretty sure she is a genius) Anyway, she is very proud of it, so if you talk to her soon ask her about it...she will tell you as well that she is a genius.
Luke's obsession with choo choo's has come back with fury. Target had the little ones with magnets on clearance so now he has two steam engines with attachable coal trucks. He carries those, and his big ones everywhere - he is a sight to be seen. Who knew little fingers could stretch that much. Anyway, he doesn't like to share - with anyone. He sometimes attempts it, like this morning he gave one to Emma and then quickly realized that he made a horrible choice and regretted it immediately. We went to Whitefish on Tuesday and the kids got to climb onto a real choo choo and a choo choo came in to the station while we sat there. Luke and Emma were so excited he made me sing the choo choo song a million times while they danced and told the choo choo what they thought about it.
The picture of Luke with a shirt on is him "eating" his cupcake. He really just licks the frosting off and then he is done with it. The second pic is Luke eating spaghetti. Ya, we aren't very conventional at dinner time.
Anyway - more pictures to come...

Another update

Life is wonderful - ain't it?
Choo choo heaven
Hi cool bug
Notice Luke's mouth
My princess not afraid of anything

Well, lots has been going on. Julia is with us for the month and we have been busy going to the gym, the pool at the park, and just life.
Here are a couple of pics -
Lily is such a happy baby - she laughs very easily and the other night we were saying things to her and she was cracking up, like Barak Obama, Global Warming, she thought they were jokes too! Anyway -
Luke is in love with choo choo's. This week he has been distracted with the Wiggles, but he will return to his true love I'm sure within the next couple of days. This picture of Luke is him wearing his choo choo pajamas, his choo choo shoes, holding his choo choos and watching choo choo on tv - oh ya, and his blanket...I guess his true love is his blanket, but when you are two you can have multiple true loves...
And another bug came and lived on our screen for the day. This time instead of a dragonfly it was a huge moth. It was actually very pretty surprisingly (I thought moths were ugly) But Luke and Emma loved the bug and finally went outside and Emma, with no fear picked the moth up - but when it started flapping its wings incessantly she let it go.
Have a great week!

Lils sitting up and Luke and Emma hamming it up

Emma wearing the oven mitt - just because.
I wanted her to look at me - but she was trying her hardest to ignore me. Also, notice my floor...that's damage within one hour. What's the point of cleaning?
Apparently they are great picker uppers everywhere else...

She was so excited here she had to try to eat both of her hands.
Luke and Emma rediscovering the cupboards...much to my shagrin.
Emma organizing
Mom, I'm busy...

Air guitar?

Lily is sitting up now pretty well - she can't get to that position yet on her own but she sure does love to not be laying down. However, with that said, she is not a fan of sitting - she wants to be standing. She is trying to stand on her feet and hands, and when placed by the couch, she likes to hold on and stand "on her own."
Luke and Emma are so hilarious. They keep me on my feet and for the most part are pretty fun. However, Luke has to eat all the time and Emma has a fiery temper. I am trying to find a balance between disciplining and not breaking their amazing spirits. I know that may sound like really "liberal" parenting but I just don't want to not allow them to be themselves. I know what I am thinking, I am just not communicating it well.
For me, I am having a really good time doing the gym thing and it's really making me feel like I am important again in life (not that anyone but myself has made me feel that way) Anyway...
Luke and Emma are starting to say a lot more words. Emma is starting to say 3 to 4 word sentences, and Luke is still on about 2 words - but I can tell that in a couple of months my ears are going to be falling off with both of them talking.
Luke is obsessed with his choo choo's now - everything, his choo choo toys, his choo choo back pack, his choo choo shoes, the choo choo movies. The wiggles seem to have fallen to the wayside, but when he gets really excited now he shakes his fingers like them and says "wiggle wiggle wiggle" It's pretty funny.
Emma is starting to pretend she is a mommy. She puts her toys to bed and covers them with blankets. She is now putting her shoes neatly against the wall and closes all the doors that have the kid handles on them. She likes her boundaries (and she sure likes to push them!) She is a very good sharer (most of the time) and really loves her brother and is warming up to Lily. She hasn't really found anything as far as tv goes that she is really obsessed with like Luke. For the most part she kind of just goes along with whatever he wants to watch. But she loves to swim, loves her daddy, loves to read, and she plays by herself very well. She is quite a talker and her personality is so sweet. However, when something happens that she remotely doesn't approve of her personality switches and she loses it completely.
Emma loves to look at the photo album that Aunt Candie made for us in June after they were born and hear the story about Luke and Emma. She is so intense. She has now says, Daddy Mommy Luke Baby Grandpa Char and today I actually heard her say Grandma and then Grammy. I asked her to say it again after Grammy and she wouldn't have any part of it. Oh ya, she says Patt too (Dave's employee) Patt gives her candy - it's an important name to know.
Can't wait to see you guys this weekend...kids are excited too.
