Their first snow

Today was the first snow - it snowed about 4 inches. So, we dressed the babies up and took them into the front yard. They thought it was pretty cool how they could make their footprints in the snow. However, they didn't like it at all when their hands touched it. We can't keep gloves on them, because Emma needs to suck her thumb and Luke can't be as free with them on. So, after about 10 minutes at the most, we headed back in.

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!
You would think that with all the effort I put into getting pictures of the babies on Halloween that I would have at least taken one picture of the babies today. But, due to my expanding belly, my lack of energy, and the thought of picking one more item up that is not required of me, not one picture was taken today.
So, with all that said - it was a great day. The babies watched Barney while Dave and I made breakfast for the family. Then we watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade together. After nap time we visited my mom for a while and then went over to Aunt Cindy's house for dinner.
I'm exhausted and am ready for bed - I promise Christmas we will have many more pictures.

Friend baby shower

This Saturday my friend Mimi threw a baby shower for me at her house. We had some ladies from the church and some other friends come. It was really fun - and very relaxed...what I needed.
Anyway, here is another pic of Honey, Billy and me with our bellies. Seriously, we aren't even a month apart...how NOT funny is that? Anyhow, I got some really cool things. Mel from church knits all the babies in the church blankets - and when I had the twins, I got three. So, needless to say, I wasn't counting on another one for Lily...but low and behold she did make me one. And even better, an all pink one (since Emma didn't cooperate and tell us what she was going to be until right before I had them, I have to go crazy pink with Lily) The blanket is beautiful.
Also, I got a pink bunny towel from Viki. I was very excited about the towel (I know, I'm a nerd) because they sell them at Costco and I have been wanting to get three of them (different animals of course) for the three kids. I'm going to give them each their own towel holder in the bathroom and put their names over it. But the towels are 10 bucks each, and right now I can't justify spending 30 bucks on 3 towels...but 20 dollars doesn't seem so bad, right? Anyway - very excited.
And then Judy from church got me a purse size diaper changing station that is so cool- and pink. It has room for diaper cream, diapers and wipes, plus a huge changing pad attached. I'm very excited about that - so now I don't have to drag my suitcase sized diaper bag with me everywhere all the time.
I got other cool stuff like outfits and booties and diapers (praise God for diapers) and even a scrap booking kit(scrap your baby in a weekend is the claim it makes - so, I figure by the time Lily is 10 maybe I will have done it...needless to say, my mom is getting that so she can scrap away for me!)
Also, Honey got me very practical but needed gifts like nursing cream and a bottle with liners (which, with my little handy dandy pump means date nights) and Billi, my wonderful amazing gift from God friend who just moved TODAY away from here to Arkansas with her hubby and her baby "Chuck Norris" got me a cover for the car seat (pink of course) and a head support that goes inside of the head support in the car seat, since that thing really has no purpose except if the baby's head is the size of a pumpkin.
So, I'm happy. And yet I am pretty sad today because Billi is gone - but I know for a purpose. Anyway...on the first we are having a family baby shower which will be fun at Cathleen's (my sister in law) house.
And Emily - if you read this, look at all of us ladies at my baby shower compared to the ladies at Ashley's baby shower...hence one of the major differences between the Northwest and the South!

My babies having babies

For about the last 2 months, Luke and Emma have been pretty obsessed with taking stuffed animals and sticking them into their shirts, while saying, "baby, baby, baby"
Now, I know that they have absolutely no clue that a real baby is going to come out of Mommy's belly sooner than they would probably like - but I think they do get the concept that I have something in my belly.
Anyhow, Luke took a stuffed animal the other day, and had me put it in his shirt and he kept it there for about half an hour. It was so funny - I could even tell it made him uncomfortable. It was pretty funny!

Way too many hormones...

Last Sunday we had a baby shower for my friend Billi (she's the one on the end) Her and Honey (the one in the front) are 2 weeks behind me - HOW RIDICULOUS! Anyway, it's pretty funny...
And one positive thing, I don't think my nose has spread out...yet

More Halloween

On Halloween, Luke was Superman and Emma was a fairy. Luke loved his costume from the moment he put it on in the morning. Emma, on the other hand, was trying to strip all day (I think the netting was getting to her!) Anyway, we went to Grandma's, Dave's work, Granny's, Aunt Cathleen's work, Grandma and Grandpa's - we had a very busy day! Later that evening, we went to see Grammy and Grampy and Uncle Seneca, Aunt Cathleen and cousin Alyson were over there. When we left we went over to Bob and Pam Hubof's for our first taste of trick-or-treating. Aunt Char and Aunt Billi came over and the 5 of us all went trick-or-treating up and down the street. It was hilarious! The babies just helped themselves to people's candy bowls and people couldn't stop giving them candy (although, as soon as we got home, Dave and I took it all away and gave them a couple of animal crackers and called it good! Hey, I'm pregnant, I need all the chocolate I can get!) Luke and Emma had so much fun that night. The next day, the first thing that Luke did was grab his Superman cape and his shoes and handed both to me!

Halloween

Pumpkin carving

The night before Halloween we went over to Grammy and Grampy's house and carved a pumpkin. Emma loved it...Luke wasn't so sure. But after a few minutes they began to eat what they were digging out and throwing seeds everywhere. They had a lot of fun! Emma was devastated when Dave finally took the pumpkin away.
